Recently, the world's first X/γ nuclear radiation dose detection chip developed by the Institute of Nuclear Safety and Environmental Engineering Technology of the Nuclear Energy Institute of the China Nuclear Power Group successfully achieved mass production, realizing the industrialization breakthrough from "1" to "100", and opening up the "last kilometer" of scientific and technological achievements to the transformation of new quality productivity.
According to CNNC, the chip has a dose rate range of 100nSv/h (Naseevert/hour) -10mSv/h (millisieverts/hour), a detectable energy range of 50keV (kiloelectron volts) -2MeV (MeV), and its size is only 15mm×15mm×3mm. It can operate in the temperature range of -20 ° C to 50 ° C, while also having ultra-low power consumption of 1mW (milliwatt). Despite its small size, the chip is as sensitive as the Geiger-Maitreya counter used for conventional environmental measurements.
The chip has broad application prospects, and users only need to carry out simple secondary development based on the chip data manual, which can be applied to radiation dose monitoring scenarios such as radiation workplace, personnel and environment in the nuclear field. At the same time, the chip adopts a standardized interface design, can be used as a general radiation sensor device, suitable for reflow welding, can be quickly integrated in mobile phone tablets, smart helmets, drones and other intelligent equipment, can be used to develop intelligent terminal products with radiation detection function.
The R & D team broke through key technologies such as crystal integration, package temperature and mass detection, completed the whole process development from chip design, flow sheet to integrated package and detection, realized the technology solidification of mass production of chips, and can be mass-produced in authorized factories with relevant qualifications.
