Portable low-power Bluetooth ECG monitor allows users to monitor their heart health status at home

This wireless electrocardiogram monitor uses a wireless connection function to relay monitoring data to the user's smartphone application. Users can view heart health information through the application, and at the same time, this data is also forwarded to the cloud for analysis by patients' doctors. The Holter monitor recorder sends ECG data to the "ECG workstation" that can act as a gateway device, and then relays the data to the cloud through the cellular network without using a smartphone. Both Holter monitor recorder and ECG workstation can realize low-power Bluetooth wireless connection between devices.

Gao Yan, Deputy General Manager of Bosheng Medical Devices, stated: ECG devices must detect any arrhythmias and myocardial ischemia, however, routine surface electrocardiogram examinations may not easily detect these conditions. To ensure that the product can perform sufficiently precise detection, we use high-precision ECG acquisition chips and metal electrodes with excellent conductivity. Our device collects patients' ECG signals through skin contact and uses high sampling rates to ensure ECG waveform data Complete without distortion

The nRF52832 SoC provides computational processing power to monitor ECG acquisition chips, thanks to its powerful Arm processor, large capacity 256/512 KB flash memory, and 32/64 KB RAM, as well as analysis software that can evaluate ECG data and abnormal conditions, identifying heart rate variability, heart rate shock, sleep apnea syndrome, pacemaker function, and more.

The wireless electrocardiogram monitor is powered by a 3.7V, 230 mAh lithium battery and can operate continuously for about 24 hours at full charge. The Holter monitor recorder uses a No. 7 Dry cell to supply power, and can work continuously for five days under full power. This is thanks to the low-power characteristics of nRF52832, which minimizes power consumption through its fully automated power management system and the 5.5 mA peak RX/TX current performance of 2.4 GHz radios.

Vice General Manager Gao said, "As these two products are both portable and wearable devices, and have high power consumption requirements, we must extend the battery life as much as possible. Nordic SoC has a fully automatic power management system, making it an ideal choice

In addition, we use the Nordic SDK to create applications to facilitate development work. Throughout the entire development process, Nordic provides a wealth of valuable online reference information, making us twice the result with half the effort
